New York Comes in Last – Again.

Financial website Wallethub recently ranked the best and worst states in which to be a taxpayer.  Unfortunately, you will not be surprised to learn that New York ranked worst.

We had the second highest gas taxes in the nation, the third highest local income taxes, the seventh highest state sales tax rates and the 11th highest tax on alcohol, according to their survey.  Our average annual state and local tax burden totaled $9,718 — 39% above the national average.

This just demonstrates that even though Albany has made great strides in the last few year, we still have a long, long way to go.
